Genealogy or Family Trees
I’ve spent quite some time, over 40 years, “digging up bones” of our ancestors and I hope someday, someone, will care to do the same with mine. These people were real; their blood runs through our veins. They will always be part of us and I want to know them. This research will help us to understand who we are and where we came from. Studying history and our own family history should help us understand others and in turn make this a better place for our descendants. Some people say let the past die and live for today, but the past is any time before this very moment. Do these people want us to forget them and everything they did, even the things they think were special? Every family has a history that is uniquely theirs. Even if your cousin, aunt or whoever, researched part of your family tree, dig right in and add YOUR part. You will find interesting characters in your tree, some good or not so good, some famous or not so famous. Each one played their part in making you who you are. You may be the ancestor of a good or famous person someday. Sometimes we are told, “You are just like Aunt or Uncle So and So”. Let your tree branch out, even if that person didn’t have any children of their own, you may have more of their traits then you have from your own mother or father. This is like a treasure hunt that goes on and on. On my hunt I have made many new friends and what is even better, some of these friends turned out to be related to me. I hope ALL of you join me on this ancestral dig.
Happy hunting,
Lettie
Old Photos
Through the years I have collected many old family photos. Some of them were in bad condition. When I started using the Photoshop software for our photography business I started repairing my family photos and now offer Photo restoration as one of our services to our customers.
Genealogy and Photo Restoration Links
I spent much of my time in court houses, libraries, and grave yards, along with talking to anyone who may know anything about the family that I am working on to get copies of family photos and information . Now there is so much information on the web and it is so easy to contact people I spend more time on my computer looking up information. So I am adding some links that I find helpful.
